This villa, which promises pure relaxation and is surrounded by hundreds of olive trees, is secluded in the woods and fields, but is only 8 kilometres from Petra. The private estate measures 46,000 m² and is attached to a wooded hillside. It therefore deserves to be called a nature park. A few steps lead up to the house from the tarmac car park with space for five cars. The impressive four-trunked palm tree shows you the way to the garden terrace. The large pool (at least 10 metres long!), nestled in the picturesque lawn and with sweeping views over the plain, is definitely a dream for anyone who wants to swim a few laps right next to the house or just drift lazily by the pool. The covered wooden pavilion, which is reminiscent of an oriental lounge, has a fridge. Here you can enjoy cool refreshments or the first espresso of the day. Later, perhaps you will all meet for an extended breakfast in good company under the wide parasol. The terrace of the villa looks like a viewing platform that sails out into the greenery. The sweeping view over meadows and fields towards the Serra de Tramuntana makes you want to explore the island's hiking trails later on. You can take your first steps directly around the villa: Take a short walk through the Mediterranean flora of the garden and to the barbecue and picnic area.

As soon as you enter the entrance, you reach the lounge. The fireplace literally reaches up to the ceiling. The two-person sofas have been carefully laid out for the best viewing pleasure. A fresh breeze blows through the open terrace façade or alternatively the curtain can be drawn. One of the decorative stained glass doors leads into the kitchen with dishwasher and wine rack. The colour scheme of the kitchen brings the turquoise blue of the sea into the house. Four guest rooms (one of which is for a single person) have access to the garden, so you can (almost) jump into the pool from your bed. From playful and intense colours to subtle shades, from double rooms with their own terrace to separate single beds, everything is included. If you have a fitness-conscious partner, the noise of the treadmill will wake you up in the morning as you sleep in one of the private rooms ... Two shared bathrooms compete for your favour. The whirlpool is located opposite a spacious walk-in shower, which allows you to precisely adjust the water jet to wake you up. If you want to combine work and leisure, you'll love the small seminar room/office with plenty of space for your laptop and documents.
Es Bassons is the perfect holiday destination for anyone looking for peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, even if the passing traffic on the road to Petra can be faintly heard in the distance from time to time. Farm villages and wineries such as Ariany and Maria de la Salut are surrounded by hills, fields and almond orchards. If you fancy a bit of hustle and bustle, just head to the lively pedestrian zone of Manacor in the town centre. While the ladies shop to their heart's content, the men might find their paradise in tennis star Rafa Nadal's new sports museum or vice versa. The famous farmers' markets from Sineu to Artà are definitely worth a half-hour drive so you can stock up your fridge at home.
On a large wooded private plot, between Petra and Manacor, lies the Mediterranean villa Es Bassons with pool. This is a Mallorcan holiday property in a wonderfully relaxed setting. Here and there you will find large and small supermarkets and restaurants. The sea is an average of 25 kilometres away: the beaches on the east coast from Porto Cristo to Portocolom, such as Cala Varques and Cala Mandia, are more beautiful than any other.
