Travelling to Italian Alps

As its name suggests, the ski resort Passo Tonale is located in a mountain pass. Here you will find long, gentle slopes on one side of the pass. On the top of the mountain on the other side lies the large glacier where you can ski at 3018 meters above sea level from early autumn to late spring. Passo Tonale is situated at approximately 1883 meters and boasts more than 100 km of delightful ski trails. It's a sprawling village where the ski resort, hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops form the center. The selection isn't vast, but it's perfectly adequate for a few delightful days of skiing.

Ponte di Legno is a larger village located 5 km from Passo Tonale, further down the valley. It features a decent center with several restaurants, shops, authentic bars where people gather for après-ski, ski rentals, and numerous hotels. The village has a pedestrian-only main street that leads into a square. Within walking distance from the center is the lift system that connects you to the extensive network of pistes. The slopes in Ponte di Legno are steeper than in Passo Tonale and weave among the trees along the mountainside. The forest provides shelter for the slopes, and there’s the possibility of night skiing twice a week.

In Passo Tonale and Ponte di Legno, besides alpine skiing and snowboarding, you can also enjoy cross-country skiing, ice skating, and swimming in the local pool. A popular activity is dog sledding during your vacation. A ski school offers lessons tailored to skill levels, and if you seek greater challenges, you can hire an off-piste guide. For the avid skier, there is the option to purchase a lift pass that is valid across Passo Tonale, Ponte di Legno, and Madonna di Campiglio, with Madonna di Campiglio being less than 50 km away.
